The Photography Network - PictureSocial

This month the contest theme is HDR PhotographyHDR or (High Dynamic Range) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than current standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This wide dynamic range allows HDR images to represent more accurately the range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight, and is often captured by way of a plurality of differently exposed pictures of the same subject matter. Really like this image David, with a hint of humor... with the seagull in the foreground. Great image.

If this is an HDR project why are you requiring a long shutter speed?  Not all the pictures posted meet that requirement.

Good question, Ron.  And just how long is a 'long' shutter speed?  Depending on lighting conditions, 1/100th of a second could be considered long.  I didn't really notice anyone posting shutter speeds in their comments, and that's been made even more difficult, since the metadata in Photoshop/Adobe Bridge no longer includes shutter speed (which is really inconvenient).

it appears that those were the rules from last month's contest that were not changed for this month...I am pretty sure it is an oversight

I would agree with that but I posted a daylight scenic picture and it was removed.  Maybe I'll try again.

Hmmmm... perhaps I accidentally changed something.  I'll have to look through the settings.
