Hello, I'm new to the group. I grew up in the northwest, so I've spent a great deal of time in Yellowstone. I've also been to quite a few other National Parks. Looking forward to looking at everyone's pictures.

Hello All Here...

Just joined this group and wanted to say HiYa to everyone. 

I love to travel to the N.P. and do so often - No Matter What The Weather.  I am Up B4 dawn - and get back to camp after sunset. -- I usually stay 4 to 7 days in the parks when on a Photographic-Collectiing Tour...  This year (2012) I shall depart home (STL,MO) and travel to Yosemite VIA the Southwest Route - and then - Out the East "Entrence" to Utah and Colorado.  Yeah!  Of Course I shall be stopping by N.P.s along the way ;-)

Go here to see the ELK and a nice drive one you are in the park.  There is a one lane dirt road short cut over the mountain from Johnathan Valley right near inerstate 40

Regarding the SMOKEYS in October.

 

October is a fickle month in the Smokeys.  I have been there at the peak of color and had drain wash it out the next morning.   Temps are cold at night and can be very warm in the day.

Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Grandfather Mountain

Nantahala Outdoor Center   white water rafting center

Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest

 

Deals Gap -  TAIL OF THE DRAGON -  318 turns in 11 miles.

 

Cade's Cove
