From the photos I've seen taken with the
40mm (new last year) it seems to do a fine job for a $300 lens.
I want to get one before the flowers start blooming
this spring.

Nothing wrong with the 105mm f/2.8 VR at all, it is a lovely macro lens and also a great portrait lens.
There are plenty of other macro lenses out there, it entirely depends on what you want to photograph, that are just as good

Guys, i am looking to buy the Nkkor 105mm micro lens. Is there anything better or cheaper in macro than this? your inputs please...& thanx in advance.
