My D2H had a few problems. The hot shoe died and I had that repaired. The exposure meter went away and I had to have that repaired. Nikon had a recall regarding the meter problem. I would not recommend the D2H. Sorry.
Hi Seth
I have shot with a D1, D2x and a D200, the body I like the best of the 3 is still the D2x. There is newer firmware for it, with this comes more options for this Pro series Nikon. Doug is right on target with his post.
to me there are no good or bad cameras.
It all depends on the type of photography you intend to do.
D2H is great for action photography because of its fast focusing speed and high frame rate.
I do a lot of low light stuff and find its ability to focus in low contrast situations extremely good.
The ergonomics is the same as the D3 which can be operated blind folded.
If you are interested in handling a pro d-slr the D2H is as good a place as any to start.
At 4 mp you might not get super high resolution, but if you are more interested in prints than pixel peeping 4 mp is actually plenty of resolution up to 8x10 prints.
If you can get a good deal on one, go for it. But keep in mind the D300S is going to be out soon, which may mean some good deals on the D300, which is a superb camera.
