The old 283 and 327 Chevy engines we're fairly easy to build into real nice race and show engines.  I bet the 283 engine in your car is a nice engine in itself....

This Custom its build on a 1935 Ford 5w With 283 cui chevy smal block air rid in  all 4 corners and  a 38s La'salle grille  Me and 2 friends build this car from an empty body with no floor and  the frame was crooked 8 inch to a show winner in just 4 months . But the new owner have take of the hood and hood sides Sadly, it looks better  with them on the car
