In composing try to keep your main points of interest away from the center of the image. There is a time and place to break that but not here. Snow is a little blown out. I like the shadows and would probably be shooting into the light source using shadows as part of the subject. That's just the way I think. When it comes to shooting this observatory you might think about placing a tree in the foreground with hanging branches in the top of frame making sure you maintain balance in the frame.

To add to Ed's comments, try using a polarizing filter to eliminate some of the blown out highlights. Also try shooting from a position where the trees line up next to the conservatory and form a repeating pattern which leads the eye.

I will try this again, I have some great feedback on this shot and I am lucky enough to shoot again with a better plan of action.
