I think it would be more compelling if the bat were moving and the background was not a garage door.  Stand a bit further back so you don't get hit by the bat, use zoom to frame so it appears you are closer than you are.

it looks to posed, some motion blur would definitely help.  Stand as far from your background as possible so its details are less clear.

I think this would work better if you included the end of the bat!
