A place to receive constructive criticism on photos. Upload a photo to this group if you want to find out what you did wrong or what you could do better.

This group is for negative feedback on photos or things that could be improved only. People tend to only comment on photos when they have something nice to say, but this group is designed to go against that trend so you as a photographer can find out what is wrong with your technique. So please don't be afraid to contribute a negative comment in this group on someone else's work.

If you would like to get constructive criticism on one of your photos here is what you do.

1. Click the Link that says "Start a Discussion"
2. Upload your photo to the "Post" section on the "Start a Discussion" screen. To do this click on the little photo icon next to the text formatting icons.
3. After your photo is uploaded you might add some text under it if you wish describing what you are concerned about or what you would like to hear opinions about.
4. Please do not use the attach section because then users will have to click on a link to your photo to see it. By using the "Post" section, users can study your photo more effectively.

Thanks for solving the mystery Nathan :)

It isn't a watermark.  It's "static" of some type.  probably from overprocessing a small file.  upper left corner about 1/4 - 1/3 of the way down.

Comment by Tex on February 11, 2012 at 1:11pm

David, sorry but I do not see it on my screen. It could be from Picasa. I downloaded it to enlarge it but still I could not find it. What does the watermark say?

Comment by David Dickson on February 11, 2012 at 12:31pm

Tex, no it's almost like a lettering  or watermark across the top half visible on my screen It isn't in Nancys adjustments of Amys photo either. Perhaps something from Picasa?

Comment by Nancy Dean on February 11, 2012 at 12:23pm

Amy, this is the way I changed your Photo around, I tried to make it look more like and HDR, put a vignetting on it, I don't think there is a right or wrong way to fix a photo, Every one looks at them with different eyes, hope you like the changes. O think it shows up more of the details in this one

Comment by Tex on February 11, 2012 at 10:47am

David, do you mean the sky, clouds and their reflection on the water? They were there before, just got "sharpened".

Comment by David Dickson on February 11, 2012 at 10:30am

Tex, I like what you did to Amys photo with the cropping & brightness, but am not understanding where the effects? or background   watermarking is coming from. Could you please comment.

Comment by Aamir Shahzad on February 11, 2012 at 2:40am

Tex, thanks for the feedback. shall keep these points in mind

Comment by Tex on February 10, 2012 at 7:47pm

Shazi, I know you were looking at a thing of beauty in your mind when you took this picture. I would have taken the same picture using different camera settings. Here, it looks like a drawing or painting and not a photograph.
