I am getting nowhere with Adobe or Apple so I am hoping someone here can help.
I have a 24" iMac duo-core with 4GB of RAM installed but when I go to Photoshop CS5 preferences>performance, it is only allowing me to select 2GB of that RAM to run PS.
I dont know why it is not showing the 4GB I have available for use. I also selected PS to run in 32 bit mode but CS5 remains very slow & sluggish.
I will probably upgrade to 8GB of RAM but not anytime soon and CS5 is soooo slow....

Thank you, Carlton

I have same problem running cs5 under Vista.. I have 4 gig ram also but it doesnt show in cs5
Its weird, I changed it back to 64 bit and now I can select up to 3GB of my available 4GB of RAM - which has helped with the speed some. I did the same on my MacBook Pro with the same results. Seems that if you select it to run in 32bit, PS will only allow you to select 2100MB of the 4GB ???? I am now running 64bit with 3GB of RAM on both machines.
