This is my first post to the group. I shot this last year in Galveston Texas.

I found a giant slug on my back patio....

yeah really....EWWWW..but cool ......now question is..how do you all go about doin these pics? what steps do you take to do these?

Getting there, need more practice.
I don't do much spot colour work - like so many things, overuse can get a bit wearing, but this is one that I like. I knew that the picture needed to be black and white (otherwise it would have been too busy and distracting), but I couldn't bear to lose the flames on the guy's cap:

Nice picture. If I could make a suggestion: you might try dropping the brightness of the ring or playing with the contrast a bit. At the moment it looks a bit flat.


used a little tone mapping to bring out the yellow of the panels.
Very cool! How do you do TONE mapping?
