On the first picture very nice work. Great detail. I always find it interesting when you can see the textures from the lines and wrinkles in the face. I like the composition of the second photo and the expression on the man's face. You wonder what he thinking. He looks very intense. The background to the left looks like a painting. I will have to look at your portfolio of pictures.

Thanks Elizabeth. Part of the exercise of taking these photos was to play with ways to make people look their best when they don't think they have a best. I'm not sure where I heard the tips I used for this shoot, but it may have been at this blog: digital-photography-school.com The basics are pretty simple though. Pose to prevent folds and chins, use hair and props to cover what the pose doesn't fix, use strategic lighting to help slim things down a bit, etc. Using any or all of these can produce images that the model will be very pleased with. I know mine was. Even more can be done in Photo Shop if need be as well. The second one had a bit of that.

Thanks for the comment! :)

James, that second one looks REALLY good! I'm so glad you posted a picture of a bigger lady. They really need to make a book about photographing glamour shots of bigger ladies. I need that book for myself alone!

Not bad. Maybe you could try doing projects on specific topics like demolition (esp with US economy) - is a great way to develop and focus the mind.
