I'm having difficulty in finding models. Any suggestions, helpful tips, or useful web resources? I'm just starting out and trying to build a portfolio while working on a shoestring budget.

Tim. If you want to emphasize body form and structure you need contrast, try usg 1 light to one side and 1 light from side but behind your model.. Dont over light.. Shoot light skin against dark background and dark skin against light back ground and variations of tone gradient to give b/g interest. But keep your model well away from background so you can light b/g with out light spilling onto your model that diminishes contrast ..

April. Its not as straight forward as that. Couture tends tom be shot clasicaly but you can still shoot it with an editorial style. Think of it like this.

Editorial is to influence and inform about fashion trend
Advertising is to influence re brand
Commercial/catalogue/look books are to inform re detail and maybe to sell specific garments of the page like mail order.

Editorial tends to be about shooting a fashion story depicting whats in or coming re fashion re colour style length cirtain designers etc..

couture shots are just awkward type posing correct? jus trying to distinguish between editorial and couture....

I need a minimalist approach have one umbrella a 100 w light 3 3 assorted flashes and am looking for a set up for body building muscle setup
