For those of us in the USA, this last weekend should have presented some great opportunities for fireworks photos. I know I took several. I wanted to share something I discovered while I was playing around with some of my shots. I had one that I took during the "grand finale" of the display, when things were a whole lot brighter than they had been the rest of the night. I've attached the original shot below - note that it's pretty badly overexposed. By changing the white balance, saturation, and sharpness, I was able to get the other image. In my opinion, it's infinitely more interesting. I'd love to get thoughts about other "rescue" techniques from anyone who has had experience with getting something out of an otherwise "bad" shot.
