That's the uncropped frame right there so nothing can be done about that. But I could adjust the lighting.

My opinion in this subject what it lacks off is the side lighting. It had a flat mono tone without lighting.I believe at times you may occur some lightings & I think you should wait for it to capture it. Another point is the sky portion is it should cropped slightly downward say around 1 ins downward leaving the bottom part more space of another 1 ins extension.Your right hand tip should have a bit more "breathing space".

Thank you for contributing to this "Critique Room".

Hi Shazi,

It is my duty to guide you.As for b/w, it would be good to use RAW data (Monochrome) in camera. If your jpeg is of a high resolution, that will do also.Converting colour in RAW to b/w is not a good idea.As in B/W data in photoshop which is a grayscale, there you can play many option in tonning effect.Try it.

I used to do that, but I don't like the b/w mode when I used to play during the film age where I play my b/w modal film & later I develop myself. The true b/w do not have a tint colour which u can see in ur image slightly magenta(red),real b/w is what or black or grey toning. This is base on my experience in b/w during the olden days.Try it & see for urself rather than professional or experts say.Thks.

I find this image of the door & the wall had not much difference in the b/w tone effect compare to the b/w old lady image below. The difference must have a significant impact on your image with a light ration 1:3 depending on your light source.Your shot must be taken in monochrome mode of your camera & not using CS5 photoshop to change from colour to b/w.
