Hi everyone
This happends to be one of my favourite photos, however the white on the tail feathers looks to bright....... I would appreciate any help as to how I can correct this in PS and how to avoid this in the future. Thank you. Looking forward to answers. Have a nice day:)
I had similar problem on my herons backs...but gray day, brown water, so could not brighten the entire photo as the sun hit the birds back and I was told by PC that it was overexposed... :(
Marie, this is a beautiful bird... amazing to see!
Did you try it in Black and white???? is that a dumb idea? group?
Hi Debs, No it is surely not a dumb idea. It was the first thing I tried...... it just does not work how I want it to in Black and White. I really hope I can get it corrected somehow, because I can't go back and get the shot again...... so mad with myself about this. Still not to worry I will try every suggestion put here and hope it comes out ok. Thank you again Debs.
Oh my gosh, I need to learn this site's settings...I am uploading pics the same size as the PC, why are they so big here? GRETA was laying in the sun, but I thought I could control with the BRIGHT/ CONTRAST/ SUN settings in iPHOTO, but this is the best I could do...and I played with many pics. Also, I took pic of my black Shepherds... and that is the opposite problem as I get dogs with no eyes if I get the BRIGHTNESS too dark.... :) Did you play with your New FILTER yet?
Hi Debs, I have been having problems with my computer and now it has gone for repair..... . Which is a pain, so I have not uploaded any photos lately. I have not had chance to play with my filter yet, busy bee that I am, but hope to get chance on the weekend. I am still playing around with some of the suggestions for the over exposed problem and I must admit it is better, but not quite right yet. Your dog is so cute, I love the capture. very nice. Thank you for your reply.
My computer was unhooked all yesterday for a new desk to be moved in...I felt cut off for 24 hours :(
I too am a busy bee and need to put my office back together and 'ground' myself from my camera and group sites... You take care! Deb V.
In photoshop you can use "match color" or "replace color" to sample the tail and then change the hue or brightness, or contrast to get the look you want. After wards you may want to take a look at creating the adjustment layer with the curve to regain any balance you may loose. In the future when dealing with bright white set a custom white balance and step down a half or whole f stop. It's kind of like shooting snow you have to step down. A polarized filter Might also help but is generally best used with skies and enhancing blue in the sky.
