I agree with Tracy, I wish we could start to challenge again. I will watch to see if any are started.
I am all for the two week format, as this will allow a little bit of time in between my other engagements(school and family) to just go out and shoot, without having to rush in order to make the deadline, and I believe that the week of voting will work well also.I'm ready to go whenever a subject is suggested. I just got a new camera and lenses and am dying to use them.
I agree with John and have the same problems that I may not be available to go out and shoot a specific challenge. I also have a day job at T-Mobile and work too many OT hours some weeks. Even thoughtful/sincere commenting on others images can be too time consuming sometimes so I prefer to only participate when I know I can devote myself. I sometimes share NEs without an actual entry but this is not really participating. I am often relegated to trying to find an archived image for entry but this is against the rules & spirit of the challenge.
I do hope the group keeps going and picks up steam but I will most likely remain a seldom participant.
I have to say that i have not been participating for a while due to time constraints. And the major time constraint fro me is having to shoot that week. With my work schedule I am too often not able to grab the camera and find the right photo. When I photograph it is with the time and the intention. I just got back from a two week trip in the Southwest, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. But in a few more days, that wide variety of work I did can no longer be used in this challenge.
I like the idea of the extra time but it still will not work often enough for many people like me. And I do like the idea of the moderator choosing 5 photos for everyone to vote on. That will make the voting go more quickly. ( and I am sure everyone understands you don't vote for your own photo)
So in recap, the voting is not the issue for me, it is finding the time to take a photo.

This really is a good group, it worked well for a while with everyone voting on each photo, but over the last several months it seems it has become a chore to participate rather than the fun it should be. What I love so much about this challenge is that you get 5 days to actually get out and take the challenge photos.
Marcia gave co-admin rights to me and John in the hopes that we would be able to keep things moving along. I admit that I haven't participated in that capacity for a while as other events have demanded my attention. I agree with Marcia, I think CC's idea is a good one.
So, as Suzi asked, is there any way to jump start this group? I think, "YES"!
I'm thinking 7 days to shoot the challenge Tuesday -Tuesday, The host posts their choice for top three, and then anyone can vote on their favorite (like the monthly challenge) in the thread. The votes are counted on Monday and the new challenge starts on Tuesday, hosted by the winner. This becomes a 14 day event, 7 to shoot, 7 to vote, is that too long? What do you think?
Hi everyone
I gave the co administration to this group to John Daly and Cyn a couple of years ago.
I had many things going on in my life at the time and also the group was not going the direction that it had been started in the first place.
No one ever wanted to do the voting correctly and we tried to come up with every idea possible.
I think CC has the best idea so far.
I will gladly appoint anyone interested in being the co- administrators for this group. I have tried to get Picture Social to take it over.
Good luck with the group. It was going fairly strong for a while. I am not sure what has happened to the group in the past few months.

The Admin for this group has been having health problems off and on for the past year. I don't know if there are any co-admins, but it would be a good idea if we have co-admins to have the admin or co-admin to run the voting and tallying.
