Beautiful photo Seto I can't tell by this photo but this looks like what we call a bumble bee moth in this area.

Can you blow the insect up? We have an insect here that only comes around when the lilacs bloom. It hovers just like a hummingbird even to the probiscus for drinking the nectar.

I will post a picture of it.
