Hand held with my Canon camera using my Canon 100mm L IS lens. The snowflake landed on my sweater hat that I had taken off. It was snowing and cold but I managed to get a macro photo of the individual snowflake.

Comment by Deb Buchanan on February 3, 2012 at 4:11pm I don't know the point in doing the scientist version when there is a Canon 100mm L IS lens to use. I wouldn't trade my lense for any lab! Thx for l@@king!
Comment by Deborah Flowers on February 3, 2012 at 2:31pm Beautiful! And I like that it's natural.
That biz about putting the snowflake on a slide, then on another piece of glass.... really what's the point? Unless you're a scientist...
Comment by Deb Buchanan on February 3, 2012 at 10:03am I hand held my Camera with a Canon 100mm L IS lens. The red material is actually my red sweater hat that I took off. The snow was falling fast and it was cold so the snow had time to melt..but I had to click fast to catch this snowflake. Thxx for sharing my photo! I appreciate your visit Kari!
Comment by Kari Garell on February 3, 2012 at 9:58am Curious, how do you catch the snowflake in a towel, transfer it to a microscope and take the photograph all before the snowflake melts??
