Sure did. Had one Impact 500w light shot thru a 42" umbrella, and a Home Depot work light with an identical 500w bulb. It was only rated at 300w, so I only turned them on when I was ready to shoot. The only body I had then was a D80, and the only lens that would work in that space was a 24-85 f/3.5-5.6.

So far it's probably my favorite portrait I've shot. Goes to show you really don't need a lot of fancy lighting stuff. I'd still hate to go back to hot lights thou.

He was the first model I'd ever worked with. He was shaved "everywhere" must be a model thing or something. The female model is my wife.

Thanks everyone. Yes it was my first. I shot it in my garage with a black sheet for a backdrop, a couple 500W hot lights, and a SB600 on camera.
