I was in Northern Arizona/Southern Utah working as artist in residence for the Lake Powell Artists Association when I did this one. It had rained like crazy the day before. Noah was nervous from all the rain. True to form all of the rivers and streams ran bank to bank for two hours and then were dry again. This is the desert, after all. I found this just as I was thinking about crossing the wash. When I stepped onto the wash I went knee deep in mud. We didn't try to cross it.

Comment by Vernan Jagunap on February 7, 2011 at 6:23pm I thought those kind of mud, becomes hard like stones when dried, especially at how it looks. But, you said that it slick and soft.
I became curious at what kind of camera you are using with those great shots. I know it is film, but I never thought that it looks that way. I searched it in Yahoo and it looks so old.
