In some countries, an owl is considered as a symbol of wisdom but in subcontinent, it is taken as a symbol of foolishness.
To call some an 'owl' means to label him/her as a fool and good for nothing.
In addition, it is also considered as a token of bad luck

Comment by Aamir Shahzad on January 5, 2013 at 7:27pm Jerry, thanks for appreciation. The impression of wisdom of foolishness or wisdom depends on cultural influences. I too belong to your group but when I have to scold someone, I frequently use the epithet of 'owl'. :-))
Incredible capture and edit. The detail is amazing. I am in the "wise owl" camp!
