The 33' 5" International One Design Class is one of the most elegant of all sailboats. They were introduced in 1936 by Cornelius Shields who started the IOD Class at Larchmont YC on Long Island Sound. There are now about 11 fleets world wide that race these day sailers
in excellent competiton. I once owned the
famous "Aileen" that was the first of the IOD Class. She is still being raced successfully at Larchmont Yacht Club.
