Thanks, Jared! I was on a tripod, in aperture priority mode, f8-11, and firing the shutter one shot after another until the timing worked out. I know some people use the bulb and a remote shutter switch, and they just hold the shutter open until a strike occurs. I haven't tried that approach.

Hey Laurent, for sure, the monsoons are the only thing that make living here in the summer bearable.  I took this from the top level of the parking garage at Terminal 4.  Had just landed, luckily had my gear and saw the storm rolling in.  I'm not sure what the red lights are from, but faintly you can see Squaw Peak just behind the strike.

Hi Deborah, yes, it is one shot. This was my first attempt at capturing lightning. I just fired the shutter repeatedly until the timing right. It was a pretty wild light show.
