sun set light house

this is a lighthouse not far form Liverpool its on the river Mersey a took this as the sun was setting and used a few ND grad 8s

We have the very green water, or sky reflections, in the foreground against a warm sky. It just makes it seem odd so it doesn't work too well for me. Also, the sky is darkened down a lot more that would be naturally occurring which contributes to the overall feeling of being out of balance. Under any natural lighting the ground, or anything on it, cannot be lighter than the sky, since the sky is the light source. To me the photograph is just too somber and dark from the waist up. Sorry, it just isn't working for me.
