One anecdote I forgot to add about this is that the camera is aimed straight up. I would place my darkcloth on the ground and then crawl under the camera to focus and compose. On one of these photographs, with my darkcloth on the ground, and a 90 minute exposure, I left the camera while film was being exposed and went to the front of the canyon to sit on a rock and eat lunch. At the end of the exposure, when I pulled up the cloth, there was a snake under it! I don't know who was more shocked! the snake did survive the experience though.

Tri-X is available in 35mm but I would suggest 400 T-Max for a number of reasons. If you are contemplating going there let me know. Processing film exposed in this place is tricky because there's about a 15 stop range of tones.

I don't think you can w/ digital. The card will get too hot and probably burn out the batteries. Thanks for your comments.
