My dad, who was a radio announcer back in the day, well he had a game on his radio show called the "MYSTERY BOX" he would put items in the box, shake it up and the fans would call into the radio show to try and guess what was inside--One person won $10,000.00 for guessing on the first try. My dad thought took it upon himself to say "If the caller can guess it on the first try" they will win ten thousand dollars. The radio station DID not have that promotion and my dad really thought they would never guess. My dad put the radio station on the spot and they ended up living up to my dads crazy big cash prize. I am surprised they didn't fire my dad!!! At that point in his career, he could call the shots. I am proud to say he made it to the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame.
