These young Barn Swallows were sitting on the fence at Humboldt Bay National Wildlife preserve. Every time the mother bird would swoop across the water picking up bugs, the birds would screech and flap their wings. This lasted for about 2 seconds, so it took a lot of shots to get this one. Mama bird never did feed them. They were out of the nest and on their own.
