Wintry Sunrise

Please View Large On Black

I just recently found the Nik Software...have to say I LOVE it! This photo was shot in Raw and then punched up using the Nik Software which are filters used by photoshop. Now, normally I would have converted the RAW image, then done levels in photoshop, sharpening, hues/saturation...possible a layer or two for all photos or for landscapes like this one...I would have taken 3 exposures, run it through Photomatix and then the photoshop process. Anywhere between 15 to 45 minutes of work. If, I've taken 100 shots that day, that is ALOT of processing time. With this shot, 5 minutes tops of processing and I only used the Nik Viveza 2.0 filter and then the polarization filter in NIk Color EFEX PRO 3.0. Now, 5 minutes may seem like alot of time but...this is the first time I've used Viveza and I have only been using Color EFEX pro since December 26th.

Eventually, I will get all the Nik software...the Dfine for noise removal, Sharpener Pro, the other 15 Color Efex Filters (I only purchase the 35 to start with) and the Silver Efex Pro. I LOVE the silver Efex Pro..if you are a fan of black and white photos..this is the software for you

Edgar, you are so right...there was a wind chill warning that day...you could only get out of the truck for a few minutes at a time ... run back to the truck to warm everything up a bit...and then back out again. It was worth it though, it made the sunrise all that more spectacular.
