"Thanks so much! Digital does seem to make life easier.. yet I don't feel as connected to my shots anymore. Again, I'm working on it! I look forward to seeing more of your shots as well."

I know what you mean Abby. With digital it is so easy to fire off a dozen or more shots in comparison with film where each shot is taken with much more care. One trick I use to stay connected is to use a tripod. It somehow places more importance on the subject and you will tend to take more care with the shot. I also take fewer shots using the tripod.
Hello Abby and Welcome to PictureSocial. Hope you find it an enjoyable place that you can learn and maybe teach others. We do have a wide range of User Groups. If you are interested, you can find them under the "Groups" tab at the top of the page. Hope to see you there.
Impressive. I too used a film camera for years, a Canon F-1 and assorted lenses. But I never developed my own film, aside from borrowing the Universities darkroom very occasionally. But honestly, after a taste for digital there is no going back. My trusty Canon still sits on the shelf with rolls of unused film.
And thanks Abby for the compliments, again much appreciated. I'll be checking in to see your new shots. You have a good eye.
Hi Abby, and welcome to the group.
I love my D90. It is a very powerful tool. The kit lens you have will keep you experimenting for some time. I shoot everything that catches my eye, they aren't always keepers but I learn from what I missed or get an idea once its on my monitor.
You have some good shots so far. Keep shooting and putting them up.
Getting feedback is addictive, good or bad it all increases the learning curve.
Is this your first dslr? How do you like it so far?
