Ron Lashley said… April, you had asked how to use Topaz Simplify selectively. You can select an area before going into Simplify but a better method is to duplicate the original shot (after all adjustments) then apply the Simplify effect you want. After that, add a mask and brush out the areas where you want the original picture to show through. Use the brush opacity and soft edge to control how much you want to show through. This is like erasing the art effects in certain areas.

Some of you have read my previous post that describes how my entry into photography was a somewhat unintentional byproduct of wanting to create graphic arts for my poetry.
