You have a superb lens for the money, i have also used this lens extensively for studio portraits.
Get a rough idea of the exposure by setting to auto then switching to manual and apply the same settings.
Better still start in aperture prority mode…
Yes f/5.6 is for good light, so indoors I would not use that lens but a f/2.8 or faster.
In manual mode you control the shutter speed and aperture so use the histogram to get the ideal shot.
I bought a 70-300mm 5.6 for my Nikon D90 and I'm not happy as my shots are always darker. What can i do to come up with a good shot using this Lens. Is this really for outdoor shots only. Please help me with the right setting on a manual mode. Many Thanks
well congrats on your new D90 do you have a multiply or flickr accnt if you do, do you mind if I add you as well, I had my D90 over 2 months na I love my D90 so far, is a great camera, still learning it's functions as well but I got adjusted already to the settings I want, by just reading the manual so anyways have a great and safe week and god bless
