Hello Carl, It would be great if you joined Martha and I during the parade. We like to watch it across the street from the Victorian Inn, in front of the old gas station. That's the best place for good light if we have any sun. From there we go…
Started shooting while in the Navy (71-74), Minolta SRT-101, back in the Day. Enjoy shooting our local Redwoods, Dahlias, family and etc. I live on the North Coast (Humboldt County) California. I'm enjoying my Canon 30D, and learning as I go along.
Hi Carl, Thanks for the comment on my photos. The "Sand Patterns" shot was made at Pistol River Beach in Oregon. There is a beautiful wide beach and the wind blows all the time. This was a small section of a very large area with ripples and mounds. My "Moon Reflected" shot was made at the same beach a little later in the evening.

Dan
Hello Carl, It would be great if you joined Martha and I during the parade. We like to watch it across the street from the Victorian Inn, in front of the old gas station. That's the best place for good light if we have any sun. From there we go directly to the ceremony at the cemetery.

Hi Carl, I am not really familiar with Sigma lenses because my experience with digital equipment has been with Olympus, but the 18-200mm range sounds good. Of course, f/2.8 or f/2.0 are great because they can capture a lot of light and allow for lower ISO and higher speed. The problem is they are very expensive: I wish I had one. My lenses are f/3.5-4.5.
Best regards, Dan
