There are a lot of these cameras floating around on ebay and amazon, but does anyone know why they would be going for so little money? If they are legitimate, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. But…Continue

Has anyone used the B-Grip Belt? How about its travel pack system? Does it compare at all to getting a Spider Belt system, or even a Cotton Carrier harness? I've been looking at these types of things…Continue

Jalexa Photography said… Hi Chris,
Thank you for the kind words on my photo. I took this at the zoo, Fortunately for me, the sun was angled just right to get the light and dark areas. There was some sun spots in the dark area, I just burned those a wee bit in photo shot so that they weren't a distraction.

Thanks for the kind words about my photo. I did indeed prove to be a great day for shooting. The airshow itself featured a Sea King, RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) Air one Eurocopter and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, aswell as a sorta unofficial show, of the Canadian Coast Guard Hover Craft. It was held in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada along the Pacific coast. :-)
marcus.scheer said… Well, I'd definitely try to find a way so you aren't just giving your work away for 'free.' If you are shooting any sports event, maybe try to contact the visiting team. Usually the farther away and the smaller the school, the less likely that school or local news outlets will send a photog to the game -- and you might be able to freelance yourself for those games! One of the guys who is always at the Nebraska football games freelances for whatever team we are playing.
And I'd also encourage you to try to shoot 'less important' games. While shooting major college football games are pretty exciting, you usually get much better access and a lot more space at a high school game. Granted, the lighting conditions are usually worse -- so try to get a lot shot early in the football season (rather than when it gets darker earlier). Other than that, I'd just say start shooting. Don't be afraid to move around. If you aren't shooting for anyone, feel free to experiment to find out what comes easy for you and what unique shots you want to try to get.
