I still have my old good friends, a 35mm Pentax and lenses. I understand you can use old lenses on Pentax DSLRs. Anyone done that? What are the issues?

It does take a while getting used it as the full zoom on it doesnt bring you too much closer. For me it is a perfect lens for landscapes and at 10mm the perspective you get is really great. I know what you mean about wanting every possible lens under the sun!! :) There are so many I would like! I think I need to win the lottery first!! :) I think the Tokina lens will be a good buy and I look forward to seeing the results.

Glad I could be of some help with the tripod info. I took the tripod out last Friday to get some Fall foliage shots. I had it fully extended which was great since I didn't have to contort my self for most shots. The Ball head add extra weight to the legs so the whole rig was really solid. Better and better. :-)
