Yes, you probably had to read that title twice didn't you?
Anyways...After a recent discussion with a local pro, I wanted to put a question out there to all of you.
I have been told now by no less than 3 professional photographers that tilted shots..."tilties"... photographs that have been taken with the camera turned at some angle other than level horizontal or level vertical are frowned upon in the photographic industry. One went so far as to say that if he so much as sees…

I appreciate your '2 cents' Daniel - thanks for all your comments :-)
Daniel, Here's the final image. Not a lot different than your earlier suggestion. By the way, the dad cried. Cool.
Daniel, I finished the final edit yesterday afternoon. I had to re-load my Topaz keys as I keep getting an error message (C++). It works then it doesn't work so something's up. I actually had been less than enthusiastic about Topaz until this project. It felt like just another gadgety plug-in. I will use it again for a project I'm currently working on called "The Fascinating Faces of Clovis", my city, where I will photograph a number of local folks for an exhibition. Also for another project called "The Veterans Project", where I will photograph veterans from each war we have been involved with since WWII. There is a man in our town who is the last living Buffalo Soldier and he fought in Burma in WWII. They will be exhibited along with a brief anecdote from the soldier about his service. So the Topaz will be heavily used. Thanks for reminding me about it.
Yeah, I have a tendency to light a bit flat. I am always open to suggestions. Sometimes I take them to heart, other times not so much. But your ideas are solid.
Hi Daniel.
Still working on my HDR. Here is a shot I took today. Set my camera to AE BKT and 3F 2.0ev, and sequential shooting and let the camera do the work. It turned out pretty good I think, considering three shots. Please check it out and let me know what you think.
By the way, have you seen the data on the new Nikon camera? WOW! but $6,000. Ouch.
Thanks for the compliments Daniel. You have a very diverse port. I specifically like the model work. You models look comfortable and trust you. I consider that the key skill of a portrait photographer.
Awesome HDR and portraits!
thanks :)
