Dave Pierce replied to Lau Wah Yuen's discussion Requesting feedback on comparison between 2 versions of same sunrise shots
"I agree with the others, while I love B&W, the color version of this shot really works. The edits suggested are good ones and they do indeed help the image, however, you were 98% there with what you had ... you did an amazing job with this shot…"

Dave your body of work is inspiring for me.  I love your variety of images.  Everything is so sharp and clear, something I need to work on!  Anyways, thanks for sharing your talents and I look forward to re-viewing your gallery often.

Glad to know you heard of my dad.  I am proud to say he made it into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame.  Too bad it happened after he passed away in 2000.  I miss him so much.

Happy shooting my friend!

Thank you so much Dave!  I am really just starting out so it is so nice to hear your comments!  I spent a ton of time with lighting to capture the roses and I am in awe of the art of photography.  So many people are excellent at getting it right.  I really appreciate your comments and I like the pictures of your delicate butterflies and flowers.  You have an eye for color composition.

Thanks, Dave. You really should look into some of the photo apps available for iPhone. My favorite so far is Pano, but I have many others that I like a lot, too. I go through cycles. I feel naked without a camera, so if the situation doesn't permit me to carry one, I always have my iPhone in my pocket as backup. :o) I prefer to have the ultimate control that you get with 35mm SLRs and DSLR cameras, but you really can get amazing shots with just about any kind of camera.

Thank you for the kind words and for checking out my albums. I have a lot to add, but I am trying to pace myself.

"Very nice - Looking at the photo I feel I am walking into the scene through a patch of leafless vegetation.  And the tint again makes it very nostalgic. "
