"WHAT CAUSES BLUR? Basically unsharp imagery can be caused by four factors: 1. camera shake... when camera movement is the culprit the entire is fuzzy. This can be caused by... a. Using too slow a shutter speed for the focal length. The 1/focal…"

Matt Needham replied to David Kilburn's discussion 7D sharpness in the group Canon User Group

Motorcycles and Dust

Posted on September 16, 2010 at 5:09pm 7 Comments

A friend has asked me to come and shoot at an outdoor motorcycle hill climb event. My question is what advice do you have for shooting this, they are doing what is called the Big Nasty a multi level competition with all kinds of bikes and lots of action. Also, how dangerous is the dust to my 7D and lenses?

I actually grew up, till high school, in northern Colorado and then in So California. My wife and I moved to C d'A to work with kids and I realized I was a fish out of water. We moved to N.M. for me to finish my academic work in commercial art and then never left.

Hey David, I used to live in Coeur d' Alene back in my pre-camera days. Kind of wish I was there now that it's fall. What a beautiful place.
