"Deedee, this is very good photography IMO. The composition is well balanced and not stiff, the focus is good, the depth-of-field is fine, and the exposure is light enough without blowing anything out. And the subject is certainly interesting, it all…"
I am 21 years old and I am currently living in Holland. I am not a photographer but I am extremely interested in becoming one part time. I love being able to capture life and also making objects seem like an abstract.
I am originally from Saba, Netherlands Antilles. A small island in the Dutch West Indies. I enjoy life as it comes and I hope one day I can become a great photographer.
My Photography Equipment:
Well at the moment I do not have any professional camera equipment but I try my best with my Sony Cybershot which was a gift from my mother. I am saving up for either a Nikon D80 or a Canon EOS 5D
Hi Deedee, I love my D40, it's light and handy and takes great pictures, it's good enough for me as hobby cam. I don't strain my neck carrying it around, that's one thing you'd like if you're always out for long hours taking pictures. And yes like Mona said, if you're planning to buy one, go to the shops to check them out personally, get a feel of the weight and the grip and even the buttons. That might be a deciding factor. :) Good luck camera hunting!
I would suggest Adorama or BH Photo. I was very lucky with my first 2 purchases - a point & shoot Kodak and a Minolta Dimage A2. I found good deals with them on eBay, but there is always a chance going that route. Try to go to stores and at least check them out in person before you go shopping online.
I really like my Rebel XTi, but if you ask others, they like their Nikon. It's all in the preferences. So shop around, do a bit of research, check the cameras out in the stores, then make your choice.
Having a good eye for photography is the main thing to have. It is a definite help to have a better camera, although I have seen some really great images shot with simple throw-away ones.
