Many people first starting out can't afford the services of an assistant. What to do.Well, that depends upon the size of the wedding and photography needs. It's best to start out by doing small weddings that normally can be handle by just you. However, as you grow, so should your staff - by at least one- your assistant.

To get a wedding you first need to get your name out there. I recommend assisting a professional photographer. This is a great way to get on hands experience. But what if that’s not a possibility, then what?
If you are new to photography, I recommend taking a course and learning the craft. Weddings are normally one of the most important events in a…

Many thanks for the friend invite!
Just been looking through your pics - your portrait photography is inspiring.
I'd like to do some wedding photography one day but I'm way too inexperienced to be let loose with a camera just yet. The thought of messing up someone's wedding pictures just doesn't bear thinking about! Would love to find out just how stressful your first wedding shoot was and how successful you thought it was.
Keep clicking :-)

Dan Tubbs, Jr. said… Hi Diane, Thanks for adding the wedding tips in your blog. I was asked yesterday by a wedding planner if I did weddings. So far I have resisted because of the stress of shooting a once in a lifetime event, (and I am not sure I want to work that hard). I do have a new lens I have to pay for, so I am thinking of giving it a try. Your information is very helpful.
Best regards,
Dan
