Howdy
I'm an amateur photographer from the UK. Sometimes I try to get good shots and other times I'm just snapping with my mobile phone - the really good shots just seem to come along when I'm least expecting them and rarely seem to be the result of hard work - just good fortune. I keep all my photos on Flickr but have downloaded a selection and uploaded them again here - don't really trust links :)
I just photograph what I find visually appealing - an obvious statement I suppose. Sometimes the subject is visually striking in its own right in which case I just record it (like the Big Ben photo) other times I see artistic patterns in something and try to compose accordingly. I'd like to develop skills in photo manipulation but never seem to get the time to sit down and practice, so my photos are all as they were taken.
I have already read a few useful tips here on this site. I hope to read more and also be inspired by the work of other members.
