- About Me and My Photography Experience:
- Taking pics for over 50 years using the same style., wedding photographer (past), ceramic and pottery shop owner for 10yrs. and instructor. U.S. Navy aerial photography, Jacksonville, Fla., Cuba 1960, 61, Making industrial TV commercials., I do push the envelope wih contrast and saturation, I under expose almost all my photo's. thats my style. I like experimenting with colors and trying different techniques to bring out the textures and colors hidden the subjects. I consider myself more of a artist than a photographer., " think different shoot different"., For reading material I recommend the following, B&W (The Special Issues)., large format paperback I get some idea's, you might to. Have a great week shooting pics everyone. ., oh, before I forget, I tossed the rule book out 50 years ago. Some of my pics could be classified as," Isolated Abstract's"..I made that up., Guess I'm just a rogue freelance photographer.

The other day in the local news stand I ran across a bi-monthly photo magazine out of Canada., Photo Life., some very interesting reading and great photo's on high quality paper!., the Candians seem to do it better. A very highly recommended a book by George Barr "Take Your Photography to the Next Level" 190 some pages, 8x10, high quanity paper! very nice I must say., soft cover. I don't take this as a "How To" book I myself get more from looking a pic's than reading., must be the kid in me. I really like the captions next to each pic, gives me a insight of the photographer Geo Barr, and how to improve on my own pictures. A new issue of B&W mag. is out and its loaded with 240 pages of B&W photo's., "2013 Single Image Contest Winners Special Issue". Some very nice photo's to give some of us great idea's!., I highly recommend this issue. $13.00 large format paperback.

Hi Don. I've been busy with a number of projects and not able to be on the site much. I really like your latest photographs. I hope you are well and ready for spring. We just returned from San Francisco and I posted a couple of shots from the gardens we visited. Spring is back and just in time. I was starting to get cabin fever!
