"I have seen cane handles that look just like your bird!  It has quite the beak!  Your flash has burned out the white under the bird's eye and hidden some texture in the neck feathers. Your singer has good exposure, it is unfortunate…"

"DOF is Depth of Field. The hair just behind the nose is in sharp focus.  The eyes and hair around the eyes are quite soft, even when opened to full size."

"The shadow is what you would expect from this angle, a reflector on the floor would have helped. The eyes look fairly sharp as do the the whiskers on the nose, good for first attempt with your new flash. "

"I would like DOF to be deep enough to have both the tip of the nose and the roots of the ears sharp.  The white on the snout looks a little burned out and there is a deep shadow under the face."
