"Ohmigosh - I got a groin pull looking at this. LOL Next time you might try lighting from a different direction other than from the camera, other than that, this rocks."

Self- Portrait Photos

This week I tried to capture my self portrait photos in a creative way. Sydney and I went to Krug park and took some photos with the tripod and I took the others at home. I also took photos in the mirror. This week I learned that when I choose to represent myself most of the time, it always comes back to cheerleading. It's a huge part in my life and something I love doing. I think this strength in my photos is that they're not all taken from the front and some of them are taken in reflective…See More

"I took this photo because I finally can do a scorpion. When editing this photo I changed the overlay to look like sepia. Is there other changes I could make to improve this photo?"

"I took this photo because cheerleading is a big part of my life and my pom poms and cheerleading shoes represent that. When editing this photo, I changed the contrast. What is something else I could change to improve this?"

"I took this photo because it's a self- portrait of me and I was wearing a really vibrant shirt. :P When editing this I boosted the colors. What are some other effects that would make this better?"

Portrait Photos

This week, I took photos of my cousin at my aunt's house. I learned that you have to take a lot of photos for them to get comfortable around the camera. Something that went well was after a while, he stopped noticing the camera and acted natural. I think a strength is the angle and level I took the photos at. A struggle for this assignment is that my cousin looked at the camera every time I would take a photo and try to make a face because that's what he normally does when someone takes his…See More

Reflection Photo Blog

When capturing my photos, I angled the camera and tried to get as up close to my subject as possible. I learned that you can capture interesting images by not showing the main focus but being able to see it in the reflection. I think the strength in my photos was the composition. I think my strongest photo is the one by the water. I have been experimenting more with the way I take photos and find they are most interesting if I angle the camera and taking the reflection photos with the flash…

1.) What challenges do you face when photographing reflective objects?

When capturing reflective objects, you have to make sure you don't include pieces of the background you don't want to be in your photo. You have to pay attention to the angle at which you are taking the photo.
2.)  What is unique about reflective objects?
With reflective photos, you can capture the image in a way that you don't have to actually take a photo of the…
