"Agreed.  I have just learned, over the years, that I have to be extremely precise and careful when teaching these concepts so there is no misconception about how they work, and what needs to be done to make them work.  "

Hello, your photography can be improved with time and practice and not be afraid to ask questions. That is how you get better. We all had to start somewhere and I don't think anyone came out of the womb holding a camera!

As for your images that you are showing, try not to use your on camera flash and just use the available light. The image of the church is good. You have all of the elements to make a wonderful image. It just needs to be composed better. Always have a center of interest to alert your viewer as to where to start to view your image. In this case it would be the church and the two other main elements are the branches and the blue sky with the white puffy clouds. The branch without any leaves is right smack in the middle of the frame which is competing with the church. Find a angle where the "naked" branch isn't showing, or get a saw.... Once you do that, you will have a wonderful looking image. Try to shoot as many different angles you can possibly find. Then when you down load them into your computer, compare one against the other until you find the one that you think is the best frame.

Shooting one or two frames is O.K. but I think you will learn a lot faster if you shoot ten or more different angles to compare.

I'm here when you need feed back on your images.

Brian
