About Me and My Photography Experience:
About Me:
I grew up a military brat, which I believe contributes to my wanderlust as an adult. Although now rooted in southern New Hampshire, I love to travel the world with my husband, experiencing new cultures, meeting new people, seeing and photographing amazing sights. I strive to capture the essence of the scene before me, to share the moment with you. Our planet is a beautiful orb to explore; which never ceases to amaze me.
Never stop learning. As I write this, I am finishing a ‘Photography and Digital Imaging’ class, which will give me six Fine Arts college credits. If I’m not learning in a classroom, then I’m learning in the field, or while out with a fellow photographer. I’ve found ‘You Tube’ to be a valuable tool in teaching me CS4.
I may not know what’s coming around the corner…but I hope that I have my camera ready for the shot!!

My Photography Experience:
I have always had a natural artistic ability, and photography is just another wonderful outlet for my soul to speak. I began to take photography seriously in June of 2009 when my husband gifted me a new Canon Rebel T1i for my birthday. Once it was in my hands, my life changed. I enrolled in school, hoping to learn about my new toy, only to find that the more that I get out and shoot – the more that I learn about my Canon, which continues to this day. I have an allergy to math, so I’m still finding some of the easy things confusing. A good friend tells me that one of these days it will just ‘click’ for me…I’m glad that someone believes. I still consider myself a beginner with a huge appetite and eagerness to learn.
My Photography Equipment:
Prior to June 2009 – I shot with a Sony Cyber-shot P10, which took excellent shots each and every time that I used it. I have nothing bad to say about that particular camera. The only drawback would be that it’s not a DSLR…or a Canon for that matter. But that was then…
Since June 2009 – I shoot with a Canon Rebel T1i EOS 500D body with my ‘go to’
Canon EFS 18-200mm 0.45m/1.5ft IS lens. I use this particular lens the most. I also have:
Canon EFS 18-55mm 0.25m/0.8ft IS lens
Canon EF 75-300mm 1.5m/4.9ft lens
Canon EF 100mm 1:2.8 USM Macro lens
Vivitar MC 500mm 1:8.0 Mirror lens – only used once so far.
HD DSLR 58mm 0.45x Wide Angle attachment lens
HD DSLR 58mm MC AF 2.5x Telephoto attachment lens

Bower SFD35C Auto Focus Accessory Flash Unit
Numerous filters
Adobe Photoshop CS4

...and I'm always looking to expand my collection.

Oh my! I feel it in my bones that you are going to be a great member of PictureSocial!
I envy you the 100mm macro!
I have a few comments -- meant only as suggestions. In the 13th image, a red flower, I would try to crop out or clone out the two patches of grey where the background shows through. It is nice now but would perhaps be better without the distractions. In the 16th image, the owl, consider applying red eye correction -- only if the owl does not actually have red eyes of course. Consider shooting RAW. The famous Sugarloaf mountain shot needs more detail in the highlights which can best be held when exposing in RAW.
My comment for these three and for every other is WOW! Very nice. Thanks for sharing!
