Getting ready to purchase some AA's for two Yongnuo YN560II flashes and some AAA's for wireless triggers (x2) plus a remote shutter release.  I know I would have to replace batteries a few times…Continue

Considering a split focusing screen- Suggestions?

Started this discussion. Last reply by CameraClicker Dec 4, 2012. 1 Reply

Just purchased an 85mm f/1.4 lens that's manual focus; some photographers who have reviewed the lens say that a split focusing screen can greatly improve focusing.  I'm pretty good at focusing…Continue

Anyone shooting with the Rokinon/Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical lens with a Nikon camera?

Started Nov 27, 2012 0 Replies

I'm looking to purchase this lens.  Specifically, I have a question about the "focus confirm chip" that is offered with, or not with, the Nikon mount version, and what it would actually allow on my…Continue

I'm looking to add a portrait lens to my gear, something prime and longer than a 50mm.  I've been looking at a manual focus Rokinon 85mm 1.4.  But I'm curious...of all the lenses you've shot with,…Continue

"On my D300, I always have D-Lighting on.  D-Lighting is actually Nikon's term for adaptive dynamic range.  It's a technology that recovers detail from the highlights and shadows in your images.  Before I upgraded to a D300,…"

Getting ready to purchase some AA's for two Yongnuo YN560II flashes and some AAA's for wireless triggers (x2) plus a remote shutter release.  I know I would have to replace batteries a few times before the price equaled that of a charger and a couple sets of rechargeable batteries.  Where have you all gone with your battery power?  Curious to see what people in the industry are using.See More

Jesse Lee Moore replied to Jessi Martin's discussion Starting A Home Studio, Any Suggestions on Must Have Equipment
"With two lights, you might want a reflector.  For studio work I'd suggest something larger- on the order of 60"x40".  Make sure you have light stands of course, and wireless or wired triggers- I prefer wireless, and you can…"

Jesse Lee Moore replied to Jessi Martin's discussion Trading Up Lenses (Nikon User)
"I see you have some good lenses in your wishlist.  The 35mm f/1.8 is an exceptional value.  I also suggest a NIKON 55-200mm VR version in place of that comparable Tamron, which actually isn't.  I've owned the Tamron and been…"
