Here's my house, in the middle of the Cumberland River, which rose way above its banks this past weekend in Nashville, TN. The water did get inside and my new flooring might be ruined. Everyone is safe though, so we are thankful.
Definitely, without the slightest hesitation the 50mm 1.4. It's in general a better quality lens, and if you will be shooting in low light situations, that fast aperture will be invaluable, especially compared to on the tele end of the 18-55.…
