About Me and My Photography Experience:
I have lived in Nevada City, Ca for 30 years. Nevada City is in the Gold Country of the Sierras, 2 1/2 hours from San Francisco. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I have lived and worked as a Teacher in Japan and Peru, teaching in the American Overseas Schools system. I have also worked in London in construction and remodeling.
I have been a photographer since my first photo of Yosemite Falls with a Brownie when I was 8 years old. My most recent shows have been this last June, 2009 in Berkeley, CA, January 2010 for The Wild and Scenic Film Festival and one coming up in Santa Cruz in March 2010. I have shot Black and White in the past but concentrate on color now. I mainly shoot abstracts, landscapes and travel. I have just published a book of my work over the last three years. "Photo Light Forms"
I am married and have three daughters, all in their 20's.
I finance my travels and my family as a Realtor in Nevada City.
My Photography Equipment:
I use a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Lens: all Canon, 15mm fish eye, 24-105mm zoom, 70-200mm zoom and 100mm macro.

As do you. I'm partial to the work you do in southern Utah and northern Arizona. I'm planning on going there for a few days this spring.

John the Motel is at "Hanksville" Utah (we think), on State 24 about 54 Mi south of I-70 and no longer in use, but there in another further west on Utah 24, nearer to Capitol Reef NP on the same route! That one is open most of the time. Beware of the One Eyed Bulldog Watchdog at that Motel though,((just kidding) and his nearly tame muledeer companions that frequent the parking lot in droves.  But you'll enjoy the Motel at Hanksville though, a "must see" on any "Americana" Roadtrip, which is the best way to travel that we know of. Enjoy!  After Capitol Reef N P the Utah 12 route to Bryce Canyon descends to Escalante Creek with some "fanfare" dropping suddenly off the last high ridge, and quickly fionds the bottom in another world 1000' below where you were ten minutes before. Make that part of the trip in the late afternoon or early morning light, of possible to take advantage ot the changing light sunsets reflections on the red and white canyon walls. Breathtaking! see Pics! enjoy!A%20A%20Tree%20on%20Rock.JPGBryce%20Valley.JPGBuddy%20and%20the%20Bulldog.JPGundefinedundefinedDesert%20Inn%204.JPGDesert%20Inn%207.JPGundefinedA%20A%20Tree%20on%20Rock.JPGHall%20of%20the%20Mountain%20King.jpgMean%20Bean%20Springvale%20UT.JPG

Don. miss the chance to try the Meanbean Coffeehouse at Springdale, Utah at the West Entrance to Zion(also on Utah 12) if you get a chance. They make a mean cup of Joe, especially good after a long hike and short soak in a hottub, arguably the best the coffee available in miles...enjoy!
