John Krachinski replied to Doug Edwards's discussion Please tell me what you think about my bridge. in the group HDR Photography
"I like the image but I find the branch distracting.  My eye wanders away from the bridge instead of towards it."

Francesco replied to John Krachinski's discussion any constructive critique is welcome in the group HDR Photography
"did you try to do that in Nik hdr efex Pro? The second photo has a little halo around the buildings and there is too much the so-called 'cartoon-effect' which I think takes away something from the composition which is actually really well…"

John Krachinski replied to Peter Dyrholm's discussion Christmas in the studio in the group Photo Criticism
"The images are cute but they are not in focus. And a star filter wasn't the problem. The catch lights in the eyes would be crisp even with a star filter."

Ed Harp replied to John Krachinski's discussion any constructive critique is welcome in the group Photo Criticism
"Nice frost shots. Couple concerns: I like the sharpness and detail in the first top shot, I wish the leaf was turned inward slightly like the bottom maple leaf. The concern I have with the bottom maple leaf is the stem is leaving the bottom edge of…"

John Krachinski replied to Aldrin Joseph's discussion Portrait in the group Photo Criticism
"There is no catchlight in the eyes. The eyes look dead. Try using a silver reflector to bounce a little light into the eyes. The portrait has no life."

John Krachinski replied to Heather Wicker's discussion What can I do better? in the group Photo Criticism
"The first image is nice but the head in the bottom needs cropped and it is over exposed by 1/2 to a full stop. The exposure is better on the second one but the perspective needs correcting. The church is falling over to the left."

Profile Information

About Me and My Photography Experience:
I have been a photographer for about 30 years. i do portraits and wedding work mostly. For my own personal work I like landscapes, architecture, aanything without people in it. Just about everything I shoot looks better in B&W. Ther's just something about a strong B&W image.
My Photography Equipment:
I have been shooting digital for about three or for years now. There is so much you can do with a digital image but I still miss spending time in the darkroom crafting a print.
