"I agree with other comments relating to the highlights and straightening, but also, have you tried converting this to mono? You might just get some really interesting tones with that lighting."

"Did you shoot in Raw? If so slide the recovery over a bit to bring back the blown out portion. White balance the image."

"The burned out highlights from the light source overwhelm the image. I like the color saturation elsewhere. It is a nice document of the subject but lacks any artistic creativity."

"Hi Alex, I think your right, I should have posted the original, but I've cut and cropped too much I think - I was trying to correct the fact that I wasn't at right angles and it looked odd. Appreciate the comment - Thanks. John"

About Me and My Photography Experience:
New to photography, (dabbled in film with Zenith B years ago). enjoy reading and all aspects of the natural world.
My Photography Equipment:
Nikon D80 with 28-70 kit lens, Nikon 70-300 VR zoom and a Tamron 90mm macro lens. Now added an SB600 Speedlight.
